I help to care for my father who has Alzheimers.

I created the ribbon in Illustrator, but I used the stamp template from zilla774. [link]

Certain flaws are necessary for the whole. It would seem strange if old friends lacked certain quirks. ~Goethe

I'm only 16 and already Alzheimers scares me 8C

If it helps any,I heard somthing about a B vitamin (vitamin B12? B13?) helping in the case of Alzheimers disease.I also heard somthing about playing video games can help prevent it because it helps strengthen your hand/eye cordination skills and for some reason that helps.

Sorry if this is a load of dribble but that's what I heard and it couldn't hurt to try maybe?idk.I'm sorry

Hi.
:icon5thraven:
Thanks for your thoughts.

I don't let it scare me, as much as inform my decisions. At this point I am dealing with my father. At some point, I may have to deal with my own. If so, then that's what I'll do. Worrying about it now, won't make it go away. By not worrying about it, I can enjoy what is going on now.

If my father's dementia is any indication, I'll want plenty of happy memories to fall back on. He's always thinking it's many years ago, and he's got to go to work, or meet friends. I only wish he wasn't back in World War II so often.

Of course.

You're right, worrying never made anything go away and it never made it better.Quite the contrary, worring makes things worse. That's very brave of you,and rather inspirational.Thank you.I should try that for myself.Looking on the bright side and enjoying what life throws at me.

I'm very sorry to here about your father, but you take it in stride. That takes quite a will to live to have that kind of mindset.I hope you and family live full and happy lives.:thanks:

Hi.
:icon5thraven:
Of course, that doesn't mean stop taking meds, or testing, or check-ups with the doctor. I'm diabetic, and they're just things I have to do.

Just deal with the things as they come along...not before they come along. I find that when I stopped thinking "what bad thing will happen next," that I noticed...most of the bad things never happened. :D

Yeah, taking meds and whatnot might not always be fun but they let us keep rockin' the boat of life XD

I never really thought of that before.I'm a VERY paranoid person when it comes to my health, but I think the only thing wrong with me is said paranoia

Hi.
:iconkattykinz123:
Alzheimers got to both my grandparents..it's pretty scary to see somebody have it.

I love it that there are more people making awareness stamps! It's about time we needed them!

:)

Awesome stamp.

Thanks for the :+fav: !

It's a disease that even wears down those caring for afflicted.
